Today, Me and the group had a meeting in University to discuss what we all had planned to create for the exhibition. After listening to everybody's idea's it was my turn and I unfortunately had to say that what I did have planned , failed as the photographs looked too flat and boring to view.
After talking to Paul and my group, they really helped me open my mind to other possibilities I could photograph that would represent the nautical theme of the yacht club.
The idea of me using a wooden box and a porthole is still being used as I believe it represents the yacht club as in becoming either a boat itself or possibly a treasure chest, this way the box would not look out of place when being within the yacht club. I came to the conclusion of documenting the weather from the same spot every other day and placing them in the box as small photographs in a gallery type of theme inside. I believe using door peepholes as the portholes would be much more effective than having bowls within the box, this way the photographs are enlarged when the visitors look through the peepholes.
When creating my installation piece , I will have to make sure that when inserting the peepholes that all the photographs will get enlarged. I will have to calculate where to place them due to the angles, so I will most definitely start that this week as time is at the essence.
Now that i finally have an idea on what to do for my project, I will now start my research into photographers and artists that have been interested in the nautical theme of photographing and also ways of art , so that i can gain inspiration when creating my final piece.
